BIOM: Biomaterials for construction

BIOM is a thermal and acoustic insulation for construction made from rice straw in Ecuador. It combines good performance, low price and local manufacturing and avoids the traditional burning of the rice straw.

The project was selected for a grant for phase 1 in 2019 and for a second grant for phase 2 in 2021.
